What fools these mortals be!
Midsummer

This is my absolute favorite of Shakespeare’s plays – as boring as that may sound – in fact; I named a cat after a character in the play. It’s sassy and catty and a little bit raunchy (if you get the humor). And it’s a great starter play for one who isn’t familiar with The Bard. Forget “Romeo and Juliet” – that’s basically two emo kids who killed themselves because they were brats. “Hamlet:” can you say whiny Mama’s boy? “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is all about unrequited love, lovely fairies and a mischievous fairy named Puck who is all up in everyone’s business and causes a boatload of drama. Also, someone gets turned into a donkey, and everyone gets insulted in a very posh way. It’s a totally fun play that you will likely spot me at a time or two during its run.
