Residents in the Lakeview Estates community are still waiting to find out if the water in their community will be shut off.

The hearing between Rockdale Water Resources and PoyntSource Solutions Inc. was postponed for a second time after CEO Libby Poynter was admitted to the hospital, according to the court. The case is set to be heard Friday, April 24.

Lakeview's 3,000-plus residents are caught in the middle of a legal battle between PoyntSource Solutions and the county. Rockdale County officials maintain the company owes more than $51,000 in past due bills. PoyntSource Solutions purchases water from the county to supplement the private supply it provides to the residents in the Lakeview Estates neighborhood. If PoyntSource does not pay the past due balance, the county has threatened to disconnect the service. The due date was April 8.

Last week, county officials decided to wait to disconnect the service until a decision is made in the case.

PoyntSource Solutions contends the county has been over billing the company, Superior Court Judge David Irwin will preside over the case.
