Louisville guard Kevin Ware will continue his career with Louisville after suffering a gruesome leg injury during last season's NCAA tournament, but the junior will do it from the bench during the rest of the 2013-2014 season.

Lousville head coach Rick Pitino did not confirm the decision to redshirt Ware earlier this week, but the Cardinals are expected to redshirt Ware for the rest of the season.

Ware suffered an injury earier this season to the same leg that he injured last spring.

"The trainer doesn't feel he can get back to the level that he was at (this season)," Pitino said in a press conference on Monday. "I think he will get back to where he was. It's just a bad break that needs time."

Ware was cited for reckless driving and speeding in a work zone on Oct. 26 

and missed his appointed court date on Nov. 16.

Ware has averaged 1.7 points in nine apperances for the Cardinals this season.
