Thousands of attendees turned out despite the chilly temperatures for the cartoon-themed Hometown Holiday parade, which had more than 70 floats this year.

Afterwards, school and performance groups entertained the crowds while guests of honor County Chairman Richard Oden, Sheriff Jeff Wigington, Tax Commissioner Dan Ray, and Santa and Mrs. Claus helped light the tree in front of the courthouse. Crowds were kept warm with pizza and hot chocolate sold by the Rockdale County Fire Department, and were entertained by groups including the Pine Street Singers, Conyers School of Ballet, Toe Jam Time Cloggers Peeks Chapel Pandamonium Singers, Barksdale Boys and Girls Club Dance Group, Flat Shoals Elementary School Chorus, Peeks Chapel Harmonica Club, Academy of the Arts dance group and singer/actress Cymia Telleria.
