Covington resident Chris Collins (center), an employee of R&R Mobility, and his wife Amanda won the all-expenses-paid trip for two to Branson, Mo., for the Veterans Day parade and events ($2,200 value) "I was excited," said Collins, when he heard his name called. "The trip is what I wanted."
Polly Harvey (left), of Covington, won a Kel-Tec PMR 30 .22 magnum pistol ($600 value) "I was excited. It's the first time I've won a gun," she said.
Robert Stevenson (right), of Fayettville, won a Stauer Compendium hybrid watch with a two-year replacement guarantee ($400 value). He sings in the Ben Hill UMC church choir with WOH board member Sparkle Adams and bought a ticket from her. Last time he won anything in a raffle, he said, was 1982 when he won a 27-inch TV.
Kent Gunn (not pictured) of Covington won a $500 coupon to be applied to any cruise offered by GalaxSea Cruises in Conyers.
Walk of Heroes Board Chairman Tommy Clack (center) said the goal was to sell 5,000 tickets for the national memorial located in Rockdale, which aims to educate future generations about the wars and conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries.
