Heart healthy patients strutted their stuff on Friday, Feb. 21, for Rockdale Medical Center’s ninth annual “Red, Hot, Healthy” lunch and fashion show, designed to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease during American Heart Month.
Anita Grimes and Belk of Conyers provided the fashions. This year, models were patients in the RMC’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program: Randy Clark, Donald Lewis, Norma Planner, Nancy Shumate, Ray Donaldson, Love Wise, Henry Lovin, Raymond Bradford, Wayne Kinnett, Martha Conn, Anne McCoy, Glen Shumate, Joyce Brown, Walter Prevatte, Feliz Kumache. This year’s master of ceremonies is also a former heart patient – T. Pat Cavanaugh, Publisher of The News.
Dr. Syed Shirazi, MD, with Piedmont Heart Institute spoke on the importance of early heart attack care. Karen Young, director of RMC Emergency Department and Stroke Coordinator, described RMC’s recent Stroke Program Certification achievement.
