Veterans from around the state made their voices heard loud and clear during the protest at the Walk of Heroes Veterans Memorial in Rockdale, held in conjuction with the national protest in Washington D.C. on Sunday.

The Walk of Heroes memorial, on the shores of Randy Poynter reservoir in Black Shoals Park, was named as one of the local rallying sites in Georgia for supporters who couldn't make it to DC. Organizers scrambled to prepare the grounds for the influx of visitors. Other suggested sites in the state included the National Infantry Museum in Columbus and the Veterans War Memorial in Cumming.

Although turnout was less than the hundreds of calls that came flooding in to local organizers, attendees were invited to come to the stage and share their thoughts. And attendees shared a piece of their mind and then some.

Here are a few scenes from Sunday morning.
