Mrs. Velma McKenney, age 78 of Madison, GA, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at Rockdale Medical Center, Conyers, GA. Velma was born November 14, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant, PA, the daughter of John and Mary Trayter. She married Robert W. McKenney, Jr. on June 2, 1955 in Hershey, PA. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. McKenney, Jr., Madison; sisters, Grayce Schroyer and Marie Schroyer, both of Ruffsdale, PA; daughter, Marile (William) Astary, Conyers; grandchildren, Allison Astary, Raleigh, NC and Garrett Astary, Gainesville, FL. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters, John Trayter, Lewis Trayter, Margaret Barrazinni, Ethel Nogrady, Irene Urick. Mrs. McKenney worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Engineering at Martin Marietta Corporation in Orlando, FL for 37 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Madison, GA and enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.
