UPDATE: Murdered man identified

 The identity of the man found murdered in his mobile home has been released today by the Newton County Sheriff's Office.

(June 1, 10:30 a.m.) Newton County Sheriff's deputies are searching for two suspects in the stabbing death of a Hispanic male late Tuesday.

The victim had called 911 for help after being stabbed, deputies said today. When deupties arrived at Pine Ridge Mobile Home Park, they found him lying on the floor of the residence. Deputies forced their way in, but the man was already dead, deputies said.

The victim is in his 40s, but his identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives, deputies said.

According to Lt. Keith Crum investigators are looking for two Hispanic males who are considered persons of interest at this time. Crum said there is no obvious motive known at this time.

There were apparently no other people in the modular home when the stabbing occurred.

 

Manuel Castillo, a 41-year-old Latino male, was the victim of a stabbing death late Tuesday.

Castillo lived with two other people in a mobile home at 5110 GA Hwy 20 S on lot 14.

According to Lt. Keith Crum, the two people who lived with him were contacted by police and are cooperating in the interviewing process

Through the two roommates, another person of interest has been identified and is currently being sought out for interview.

"The investigation is continuing," Crum said. "We still have investigation units assigned and working in the field now."
