A Decatur man was arrested for the armed robbery of the CVS in Conyers and at least three other drugstores.
Christopher Austin Westmoreland, 43, was arrested in connection with several robberies in Newton, Rockdale and DeKalb counties.
Westmoreland was identified by a citizen who saw a "be on the look out" issued Friday. With the assistance of Gwinnett County Police Department, he was arrested at a motel in Norcross on Saturday afternoon. No gun was located with Westmoreland. The case is still under investigation.
Westmoreland is currently being held in the Rockdale County Jail without bond where he faces a charge of armed robbery.
Westmoreland is believed to have begun his robbery spree at one store in DeKalb County in January. He is suspected of another DeKalb robbery on Wednesday followed by Conyers and Covington on Thursday.
On Thursday, April 23, a man entered CVS Pharmacy, 1541 GA Hwy 20 in Conyers, and presented a written note to the cashier demanding money from the cash register. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Officers learned the same suspect then targeted a Walgreens on Hwy 278 in Covington later that day driving a blue Honda Accord.
A Conyers Police officer recognized the suspect and notified the Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives interviewed friends and family of the man and confirmed he had been missing for several days and drove the same blue Honda Accord seen during the Covington robbery.

Investigators believe the same grey-haired man who robbed the CVS in Conyers on Sigman Road and Ga. Hwy 20 also hit three other stores in Covington using the same method of showing a note threatening that he had a gun in his backpack.
Covington Police are looking for a white male suspect who entered the Walgreens at 3188 Hwy. 278 on Thursday.
According to reports, the white male entered the drug store and presented a note stating he had a gun and told the clerk to give him money from the draw.
The man then left in a blue two-door Acura sedan with a spare tire on the front driver's side.
If anyone recognizes the suspect or might have information leading to the suspect, they are asked to contact Covington PD Det. Kara Hipps at 678-625-5555 or kara.hipps@covingtonpolice.com or Conyers PD Det. Buck Vaughn at 770-929-4233, or buck.vaughn@conyersga.gov
