CONYERS - Two suspects accused of shooting and robbing a man in Conyers have been arrested.

Marietta, Georgia resident Olanrewaju Williams, 32, and Kevin Singleton, 27, out of DeKalb County have been taken into custody for the incident that left one 34-year-old male from Blakely, Georgia suffering from a single gunshot wound in the abdomen.

Conyers Police (CPD) responded a person shot call at McCords Corner in Conyers just before 12 a.m. on August 25. The victim, who's a professional truck driver, was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where he underwent surgery and has now recovered, according to a press release from CPD.

According to CPD, the victim was meeting an individual he knew as "Sean" to complete an unspecified business transaction. The man he knew as "Sean" turned out to be Williams, and the victim had previously sold Williams a vehicle.

Williams brought Singleton, who the victim knew as "DK," to the location the night of the shooting. A physical altercation followed at which point the victim was shot. Williams and Singleton fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money taken from the victim.

Williams was arrested a few hours after the incident in Marietta by the Marietta Police Department for an unrelated incident on Aug. 26. Singleton turned himself in to the Rockdale County Jail on Aug. 31.

Williams is being charged with armed robbery and will face his charges when he's transported to the Rockdale County Jail.

Singleton is facing an armed robbery and aggravated assault charge. He's currently in the Rockdale County Jail with no bond.
