Trick or treaters will be taking over the streets of Conyers and a street in Olde Town will be closed for additional safety Thursday night.

Parts of Main Street and College Avenue in Olde Town Conyers will be closed from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for families to trick or treat safely. Typically, thousands of children and parents stop by during Halloween night.

During the morning, Olde Town businesses will also be hosting trick or treating with groups from Pine Street Elementary, Peachtree Academy, Conyers First Presbyterian preschool, Conyers First Presbyterian preschool, and Rainbow World.

Rockdale's 4-H will hold a Spooky House on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 30-31, 5 p.m.-8 p.m., at 1400 Parker Road, Lobby A. Come experience thrills, chills and a scarily good time with games, crafts and the haunted house. All kids fourth through eighth grade invited. Tickets are just $3.

In Covington, the annual "Scare on the Square" trick-or-treating event will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday on the Square.

The free event, hosted by Main Street Covington, the Covington Police and Fire Departments, the Newton County Sheriff's Office, Newton County Fire Services, and other public safety agencies, will feature hayrides, games, prizes and plenty of candy.
