A public hearing, hosted by Commissioner Oz Nesbitt, to discuss possible changes to trash collection in the county will be held Tuesday, July 15 at 6 p.m. at the J.P. Carr Community Center, 981 Taylor St. in Conyers.
There will then be a public comment time for citizens to voice their opinions.
The topic of changing the county's trash collection system, which is currently open to any private trash collection providers, was brought up earlier by Commissioner JaNice Van Ness as a way of addressing blight and homes that do not have trash collection service and violate county codes by dumping trash in green spaces, abandoned homes or at businesses.
No RSVP or preregistration is needed.
