Traffic stop finds cash, pot, gun

A traffic stop resulted in the confiscation of narcotics, cash and a firearm from a Conyers resident on Wednesday.  

A Conyers Police officer conducted a traffic stop on January 30 for a vehicle operating without insurance. Upon further investigation, a search of the vehicle resulted in the confiscation of over one pound of marijuana, over $5,000 in cash, and a stolen firearm.

Police arrested Christopher Reece Brown, 27, of Conyers and charged him with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession and use of drug-related objects, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and no insurance.

Brown is currently being held in the Rockdale County Jail without bond.
