Tornado watch lifted

The tornado watch for areas including Rockdale and Newton has been lifted. It is still in place for east central counties, such as Baldwin, Putnam, Taliaferro and more until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.


Newton, Rockdale and surrounding counties are under a tornado watch Tuesday until 10 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, a hazardous weather outlook also remains in effect throughout the day and into the evening. Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms possible across north and central Georgia are possible, along with damaging winds and very heavy rain with flash flooding.
