Three arrested in Green Acres shooting in Newton

UPDATE: COVINGTON - Three arrests were made in the shooting that occurred last night at 6119 Pine Needle Drive. All three suspects are charged wtih aggravated assault, discharging a firearm in the city and reckless conduct.

The arrested indivudals are James Russell Leaks, 21 of Harmony Place, Trayvond Denard Ball, 20, of Greenway Cove and Sydney Omar Johnson, 20, of Hwy. 36.

Witnesses pointed out the suspects involved in the shooting and identified their vehicle. CPD officers then stopped teh vehicle, an older blue Ford Crown Victoria, and made the arrests

(Aug. 12, 10:28 a.m.) The Covington Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred last night at 6119 Pine Needle Drive.

According to CPD Captain Craig Treadwell, a juvenile was shot in the leg in "what we believe to be a drive by shooting."

Treadwell said the victim is recovering well and two suspects have been arrested.
