The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office arrested a double-murder suspect Thursday afternoon.
A warrant for James Edward Armstrong III, 27, was issued Thursday from law enforcement in Birmingham, Al.
The RCSO received an anonymous tip around 4 p.m. that Armstrong was possibly staying at a residence on White Oak Court in Rockdale County.
After receiving the information, the RCSO fugitive investigator assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau began an immediate investigation into the tip.
The fugitive investigator made contact with Armstrong leaving a residence on White Oak Court on a motorcycle an hour after the receiving the tip.
The investigator followed the motorcycle and performed a felony stop on Armstrong at the intersection of Hickory Street and White Oak Court with the assistance of uniformed patrol deputies.
Armstrong, a black male describe as being 6-feet-tall and weighing 190-pounds, was taken into custody without incident. The address Armstrong gave as his residence when he was booked into the jail was 1299 White Oak Court.
He is currently incarcerated in the Rockdale County Jail and awaiting extradition back to Alabama.
