The Conyers Rotary Club honored the following Rockdale 2012 STAR students and their teachers, for having the top SAT scores in their high school, in a ceremony Thursday.
Rockdale County High School student Lacey Stansell, who chose Rockdale Career Academy English teacher Joanna Anglin, hopes to attend Clemson or Georgia Tech to study architecture or civil engineering.
Rockdale Magnet School of Science and Technology student Shoman Kasbekar, who chose environmental sciences teacher Susan Gary, hopes to attend Stanford, Vanderbilt or Rice University to study environmental sciences.
Salem High School student Megan Lee, who chose English teacher Lisa Boyd, hopes to attend Duke University to study English literature or film studies.
Heritage High School student Nathan Kirksey, who chose AP Art History/World History teacher Jim Haule, hopes to attend Georgia Tech to study computer science.
Shoman Kasbekar was selected as the system-wide STAR student and Susan Gary was selected as the system-wide STAR teacher.
The awards and ceremony were sponsored by the Bank of North Georgia.
