We all know we are living in some very tough economic times; we have to deal with that reality every day.

That is why that it such a pleasure to be able to write about a real success story.

The United Way over the years has been that beacon of light that many non-profits depend on to survive each year in our community.

The Rockdale United Way, under the leadership of a determined board and Claire Cline, set an ambitious goal this year in order to meet the needs of those non profits.

Because we live in a community that truly cares about its neighbors and because we are blessed with people who provide great leadership, the Rockdale United Way has met its goal of $325,000. In fact, it has been surpassed.
