To accommodate the increased volume of registrants entering school, Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) student registration office will temporarily move to a larger location this summer.
The student registration office will move to 1400 Parker Road, Conyers, - Lobby B entrance.
The student registration office will close at the 1143 West Avenue location at 12 p.m. on July 18 and reopen at 1400 Parker Rd (Lobby B), Conyers, at 8 a.m. on July 19. This temporary site will close on Friday, August 3 at 1 p.m. and reopen at 1143 West Avenue on Monday, August 6 at 7:30 a.m.
“It is critical that parents/guardians bring all of the required documentation with them,” said April Fallon, RCPS director of community and student support. “The wait times can be over an hour, and if parents do not have the correct documents, they will have to leave the registration site, obtain the information and return, starting in line all over again.”
Georgia law requires the discipline record from the preceding school year indicating that a disciplinary order was not imposed for registering students entering grade 7 or above. “This can be especially difficult to obtain for students who are from a school in the northern part of the United States – school districts in that region shut down for the summer, and reaching a live person who can fax a discipline record is nearly impossible,” Fallon said. She suggested that parents begin calling the former school immediately to obtain school records.

RCPS Required Documents for Student Registration
In order to register your child for school you will need to bring the required documents listed below with you to the student registration office. Students will not be able to attend school until all the necessary forms are completed.
1. Current proof of residency (2)
(THE REGISTRATION PROCESS CANNOT BEGIN WITHOUT MEETING THIS REQUIREMENT)
You must have one of the following:
• Current signed lease agreement OR
• Current mortgage statement or property tax receipt OR
• Statement of Legal Residence Form {Affidavit} (copies available at Student Registration Office) *this requires the owner/landlord’s signature and notary
PLUS one of the following:
• Automobile registration with the same address
• Current gas, electricity, or water bill with the same address
2. Certified Birth Certificate showing the registering parent(s) name(s)
OR
Court-ordered proof of custody/guardianship if you are not the birth parent. If you need further information about obtaining legal guardianship, please contact the Rockdale County Probate Court at (770) 278-7700.
3. Social Security Card (or waiver)
4. Form 3231 - Georgia Certificate of Immunization
5. Form 3300 (Certificate of Ear, Eye, and Dental Examination)
6. Photo ID for parent
