For rising seventh and eighth graders who have been looking for something fun and educational to do this summer, Rockdale Career Academy has a unique opportunity through its upcoming RCPS Career, Technical and Agricultural Education Non-Traditional Occupation Summer Camps.

In the first session June 11-14 from 8 am- noon, students are invited to participate in exciting camps such as “Man up! In Education,” “Girls in Engineering,” and “Girls Exploring Manufacturing Systems.”

The second session is June 18-21 from 8 am- noon and offers a camp for boys called “Scrubs, Scalpels and Sports Medicine,” and various camps for girls, such as “Girls in Engineering,” “Girls in Architecture,” “DYNAMIC Girls (Design Your Next Academic Move into Construction).”

NTO Camps provide a great insight to different working experiences that most never get a chance to witness firsthand. During these sessions, students learn what it’s like to work in these specific jobs, along with doing hands-on activities involving the jobs they explore.

All of these camp experiences promise fun, and are highly engaging and energetic. The best part is that for all of these NTO camp sessions there is no cost to participate.

Seats are still open for most of the sessions, and parents can still register their kids at the following link: http://rockdalesos.com/machform/view.php?id=5. For more information, contact CTAE Coordinator Roger Ivey at 770-388-5721 or rivey@rockdale.k12.ga.us
