Thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of stolen hair weave early Thursday morning in back-to-back burglaries at two Conyers beauty supply stores.

The first burglary happened just before 6 a.m. Nov. 7 at the Sunny's Beauty Supply in Conyers Square, located near Kroger at the intersection of Ga. Highway 138 and Flat Shoals Road.

Conyers Police recovered video surveillance footage that show a male suspect smashing the store's glass door to get in the business. Police said he and another suspect took several hair extensions and other store merchandise. They loaded the stolen items in a late model Chrysler van and drove out of view of the video camera.

About 15 minutes later, video footage show the same suspects at Sunny's Beauty Supply II in the Conyers Plaza, located on Dogwood Drive next to WalMart.

Conyers Police incident reports said the male suspect first stood in front of the store with his back facing the door. After looking around, the video show the man smashing the glass door with what looked like a hammer. He and a female suspect went in the store, took an undetermined amount of hair weave, according to reports, and left the store.

Police urged anyone who can identify or locate the subjects to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
