I had just warned my son's friend, "Whatever you do, don't walk on the driveway, it's covered with ice." Winter had blessed us with a beautiful snowfall and everything had frozen overnight.
Of course, 9-year-olds know everything, so off to the driveway we went. I remember reaching out for him as he started to slip. Then, my feet swooped up in front of me. Have you ever fallen in slow motion?
I'm not sure what I looked like. But, his little ole gaping mouth said it all when my body stopped bouncing.
There I laid in my foolish predicament. Sometimes, I think that embarrassing things happen to me so that I can remember to trust in God.
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up" (James 4:10 NIV).
