Sign ordinance changes to be proposed

The county is working on a proposed sign ordinance change that would double the time a sign was allowed to be put up and increase the size of the sign, among other changes.

Chief of Staff R.J. Hadley reported at the Board of Commission work session that county staff members had met with City of Conyers staffers, legal advisors and spoken with the Chamber of Commerce to come up with proposed changes to the current banner ordinance.

Commerical businesses would also be able to apply to put up banners without "going through hoops."
