A crash involving a Rockdale school bus carrying Memorial Middle School students occured around 8:15 a.m. on Flat Shoals near Ga. Highway 138 at the Hunting Creek Plaza. It appears there are no serious injuries, according to police.

The bus, carrying about 35 students, was reportedly stopped when it was rear ended by a car with a female driver and female passenger. The other vehicle reportedly went under the bus.

About 17 children from the bus were transported in all to the emergency room at Rockdale Medical Center. Four of those children transported by ambulance. The other 13 children were reportedly brought on board a school bus other than the one involved in the crash. They are reportedly being checked for neck, back and arm injuries.

The two women in the other vehicle were transported to the hospital by a private car.

The bus driver, also female, has been a bus driver for about five years. The bus was reportedly in driveable condition.

Parents are meeting and picking up children at the hospital, according to RMC spokesperson Kerri Glover.
