Rockdale Board of Education member Katrina Young was recently elected to serve as District Director for the Georgia School Boards Association.

Young, selected by the GSBA District 4 board members, will represent Rockdale, Newton, DeKalb counties, along with Decatur City on the GSBA Board of Directors.

"I am excited about the opportunity to be more involved as a district directory," Young said. "I firmly believe in public education and its ability to prepare our children for a successful future in this competitive world."

GSBA is a voluntary, statewide organization that provides professional services and training to the state's local
boards of education, and represents the collective resolve of local boards in the governance of public education. GSBA has been serving local boards for 60 years.

"We are extremely pleased to have Mrs. Young join our Board of Directors," said GSBA Executive Director Sis Henry.
