Mr. Roy Augustus Johnson, age 84 of Stockbridge, died Monday, December 5, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice Cleveland and C.C. Johnson, Jr.; brothers, Nathan Johnson, Brooks Johnson; sister, Elizabeth Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Annette Alexander Johnson, Stockbridge; daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Johnson Bevins, Lynda and Richard Davidson, all of Atlanta; sister, Lois Woodley, Decatur; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Mary Anne Johnson, McDonough; grandchildren, Wayne and Joan Wilson, Jackson, Charmon and Dan Talley, Marietta, Christel Wilson Montoya and Josh Cavaretta, Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Melissa Wilson, Travis Wilson, Samantha McDaniel, Nicholas Waggoner, Danielle Talley, Dylan Talley; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson served in the United States Navy on the USS Clay during World War II. He was the owner of Roy's Drive In in Decatur for 25 years and later managed the Puritan Dairy Store in Ellenwood. He was a member of Alexander Memorial Presbyterian Church for 65 years and was a loving "Pop" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Rev. Alec Ward officiating; private interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Decatur.
