After finishing second in the Region 8-AAAAAA tournament and earning a chance to host the first round of the state playoffs, Rockdale made quick work of Archer Thursday,

The Bulldogs, playing at Heritage while Rockdale's gym is under construction, made short work of the Tigers winning the first three sets of a best-of-five series.

Rockdale (26-24) won the first and second sets by large margins, 25-14 and 25-12, respectively before holding on to seal the victory, 25-23 in the third set.

Rockdale fell to Norcross in the region championship to earn a matchup against third-seed Archer (18-17).

Rockdale will travel to Region 3-AAAAAA No. 1 seed Harrison Tuesday. The Hoyas (46-6) defeated Lassiter in three straight sets Thursday, 25-20, 25-13 and 25-13.
