Walk of Heroes Veteran's Day Ceremony
11 a.m., Walk of Heroes Veterans Memorial at Black Shoals Park, 3001 Black Shoals Rd., Conyers; The Georgia Veterans Memorial Park Foundation will host a Veterans Day program honoring late and current veterans next week. The key note speaker at the event will be Captain John Warren. He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, from 2004-2008 and. In 2006, he fought in the Battle of Ramadi, which was part of the Iraq War. Davis Middle School Veterans Day events

Free filing of discharge papers at Rockdale courts
Rockdale County Clerk of Courts Ruth A. Wilson is urging veterans of all military branches to have their DD-214 Military Discharge Papers recorded at the courthouse, free of charge, at the Real Estate office located at the Rockdale County Courthouse, 922 Court Street, Conyers. "Although veterans may have recorded their DD-214 in their hometown, or in a county or state far away from Rockdale County, we encourage them to record them here as well. The 14th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation Monday dinner will be available to any person who has ever served in the U.S. military.
