Rockdale Career Academy senior and Broadcast Video Production student Amanda Moreno addressed legislators and attendees of the HB215 Study Committee on Sept. 22. The meeting was held at the Henry Medical Center Education Building in Stockbridge. Moreno shared her story of success and involvement in SkillsUSA and her Broadcast Video Production classes. She rose from a student struggling to find her niche to one that achieved success and confidence through an encouraging advisor, James Dinsmoor and a great competitive experience with the SkillsUSA competition. Moore climbed the ranks as a first year SkillsUSA member to place fourth in the nation in Prepared Speech this past year.
