IN BRIEF: Members of Rockdale and Newton's finest in public safety gathered early Tuesday morning to commemorate, remember and honor the service and sacrifice of first responders on Sept. 11, and to take a moment to reflect on the enormity of the changes over the years. Participants included the Rockdale County Fire and Rescue Department, National EMS, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, the American Legion Honor Guard and Newton High School band, and the veterans unit of the Georgia Department of Labor’s Covington Career Center.

Keynote speakers include Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown and Rockdale County Fire and Rescue Interim Chief Dan Morgan.
