 Rockdale Medical Center announced the appointment its new Chief Operating Officer. Beemal Shah has been named Chief Operating Officer of the hospital. Shah is replacing former COO, Deborah Armstrong, who was promoted to CEO earlier this year.

Shah, 28, most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, Fla. and worked over the past several years with the Hospital Corporation of America. He has also worked as a Management Engineer and a Planning Analyst in the healthcare industry.

“Mr. Shah brings significant healthcare experience to Rockdale and our community and I am pleased to have him join our team,” said Rockdale Medical Center CEO Deborah Armstrong. 

Shah said in an email that while he was at Regional Medical Center he was "provided the amazing opportunity to return to Georgia where I was primarily raised."

Shah, a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, received a Bachelor of Science with highest honors in Industrial Engineering. He also received a Master of Health Administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

He currently lives in Atlanta and will soon be joined by his wife Sonal.
