The Rockdale County Board of Elections and Registration got an update on county voter statistics at its Friday afternoon meeting. 

The county’s voter roll grew by 296 voters in the month September bringing the total number of voters in the county to 56,949. Of those, 48907 are active voters.

Some Rockdale citizens have already submitted their ballots through the mail for this year’s election. The Elections and Registration office has accepted 145 absentee ballots after mailing out 523. Twelve ballots have been rejected. 

Early in-person voting begins Oct. 13 and lasts until Oct. 31. The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On the last three days of early voting, the polls will be open until 7 p.m.
