Rockdale's basketball season came to an end Wednesday thanks to Marist's underdog run through the Class AAAA.

The fourth-seeded Marist War Eagles of 6-AAAA beat the Bulldogs 65-50 in the final game in the Rockdale gymnasium. Rockdale will play in a brand new gym starting in the 2012-2013 season.

With the state tournament moving to West Georgia University, either way Wednesday was the final game in the old gym. But it wasn't the way Rockdale wanted to send it out.

Rockdale junior C.J. Wilson led the Bulldogs (20-9) with 20 points, four assists and two steals. LaRonta Parks added 15 points for the third-seeded Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs, 2011-12's state runners-up pulled an upset of their own in the first round, defeating second-seeded Woodland 77-73, earning a spot in the Sweet 16.

Marist upset No. 1 seed Lithia Springs in the first round, and will now meet the state's top team, Miller Grove, in Carrolton this weekend.
