The Rockdale County Riptides swim team earned a second-place finish at the 20th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Classic hosted by the City of Atlanta Dolphins last weekend.
Rockdale finished just behind the Dolphins, who placed first overall. Rockdale finished in the top-3 at the event out of 18 total participants.
The Riptides took home a pair of first-place finishes at the meet, while also finishing second and third in two divisions.
"It was a great meet for us," Riptides coach Sean Willette said. "We are training harder than ever and the results are showing."
Sarah Riley and Delaney Willette earned first-place individual high-point trophies at the meet in the 11-12-year-old girls division and the 13-14-year-old girls division, respectively.
Thien-An Maynard earned a second-place overall finish in the 11-12-year-old girls division, and Corey Kidd earned the Riptides' lone high point finish in the boys division in the 10 and under age group.
The Riptides return to action Jan. 31 at the Hurricane Groundhog Invitational.
