Ingredients

2 1 /4 cup flour

1 / 2 cup sugar

1 / 4 cup butter, soften

1 / 2 cup Molasses

1 egg

1 1/ 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 /4 teaspoon ground cloves

Small raisins

Procedure

Combine the flour, sugar, butter molasses, egg, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a large mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed until mixed. Chill, covered for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350 Roll chilled dough 1 / 8 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut out with gingerbread man cutter. Place 1 / 2 inch apart on cookie sheet. Decorate with raison for eyes and nose, mouth and buttons. Bake 8 minutes or until browned. May be decorated with frosting when cool. Yields 1 1/ 2 to 2 dozen cookies.
