The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office held several road checks and concentrated patrol efforts that resulted in multiple arrests and traffic citations over Labor Day weekend.

The first night of the Labor Day weekend task force was Friday, August 30. Two road safety checks and concentrated patrol efforts were held in different areas of the county. Those road checks and patrol efforts resulted in six drug-related arrests, six suspended license arrests, three child safety seat violations, two driving under the influence arrests, and one wanted person arrest.

On Saturday, August 31, the second night of the Labor Day weekend task force, two road safety checks and concentrated patrol efforts were also held. These resulted in two suspended license arrests, one drug-related arrest, and one wanted person arrest. Two additional road safety checks were held on Sunday, September 1, that resulted in four suspended license arrests and one wanted person arrest.

"I want to thank the deputies that worked the busy holiday weekend," said Sheriff Eric Levett. "The road safety checks and concentrated patrol efforts were successful in getting drug violators and drunk drivers off the roads, and also addressed several child safety seat concerns that were discovered."

In total, the Labor Day weekend task force made 24 arrests and issued three citations for child safety seat violations.
