RCPS summer school registration set

Registration for Rockdale County public school’s summer program is set for Thursday, June 11, at Heritage High School. Students can register for credit recovery/intercession classes, Georgia High School Graduation prep classes, and the SAT enrichment course. Summer school runs from June 15 – July 3.

Registration for rising fifth and fourth year high school students is at 8 a.m. and students can register for all classes needed. Registration for rising third year high school students is at 10 a.m. and for rising second year high school students at 11 a.m. Rising third and second year high school students can register for no more than two, half-credit classes.

Students who need a class for credit can participate in a self-paced, computerized class. Classes offered are Algebra 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B; Biology A and B; Chemistry A and B; Civics; Economics; English 9A - 12A and 9B - 9B; Geography A and B; Geometry A and B; Health; Physical Science A and B; U.S. History A and B; and World History A and B. Students who need to take Math 1A and 1B must register at Heritage High School for the teacher-led course to be taught at Rockdale County High School.

The credit recovery/intercession classes are $75 per half credit.

The Georgia High School Graduation prep class is offered as an online tutorial program for math, science, social studies and language arts. Students must pass all five subject areas to receive a high school diploma. The course is free to interested students.

The SAT enrichment is designed to help ninth – 12 graders prepare for the SAT. The class focuses on both the language/verbal and math sections of the test. The course also is free to interested students.

Only cash will be accepted at registration. All fee, fines and financial obligations must be paid at the student’s home school before any student will be allowed to register for summer classes.
