Rockdale County Public Schools student registration office will temporarily move to 1400 Parker Road from July 24-August 7 to handle the increased volume of families coming to register students.

The RCPS student registration office will close at 1143 West Avenue on Friday, July 24, noon, and reopen at 1400 Parker Road, Lobby B, on Monday, July 27, 8 a.m. The Parker Road location will be open 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. until Thursday, August 6.

The temporary site will close at noon on Friday Aug. 7, and reopen at 1143 West Avenue on Monday, Aug. 10, 7:30 a.m.

Make sure you have all the needed documents before registering your child, officials advise. If not, parents may have to come back later with all the documents to register their child.

"We encourage those who need to register children for school to visit the student registration office as soon as possible," said Cindy Ball, Chief of Strategy and Innovation. "Student Registration gets extremely busy as we approach the start of the new school year, which may cause a wait time in the reception area. To expedite the registration process, we ask that parents and guardians visit our web site to know exactly what to bring with them.

"Regrettably, there are times when registration cannot be completed due to missing or incomplete paperwork. We strive to provide the best customer service possible at Student Registration and look forward to welcoming new children and families into our schools and community."
