The 2011 Race Against Violence, which saw over 160 participants, raised more than $6,500 with proceeds going to the Rockdale County Task Force Against Family Violence and Project ReNeWal, a shelter for victims of domestic violence and abuse. Judge Nancy Bills, Chair of the Task Force, said that even in these tough economic times, the event was successful due to the tremendous amount of support from the community. Next year's RAV is scheduled for October 20, 2012. To learn more about the Task Force or about domestic and family violence, go to rockdaleaware.org.
