'Police Academy' star in comedy show June 28

If you’re looking for a night of stand up comedy but don’t want to drive to Atlanta, check out the Peach Pit Comedy Show starring comedian Michael Winslow, of the "Police Academy" movie series fame, at Club 908 in Olde Town on Friday, June 28, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. 

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show, and at 8:45 p.m. for the 9 p.m. show.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door for general admission. Also available are VIP balcony seats for four people, which includes a four-seat table and a bottle of wine for $100. VIP front row seats are also available for four to 10-people, which includes a table with seating for between four and 10 people and a bottle of wine (for four) or two bottles of wine (for 10) for $120-$290. The show is at Club 908, 908 Commercial St NE, Conyers.

Peach Pit comedy co-owner Gary Bridgewater said Winslow’s mother-in-law is a Conyers resident, and Club 908 owner Kip Stewart had worked with Winslow in the past. 

Peach Pit comedy was formed to help bring comedy to Conyers/Covington, said Bridgewater. "We believe there is a great comedy fan base here in the Conyers/Covington area."

He said the show was a chance to shop local and play local. "It's good entertainment in a local environment without having to drive to the big city or having to put money into Atlanta."
