Pocket Devotional: Thank you so much

I am so lucky to witness countless acts of kindness and gratitude. Every day, I watch young children teach me how powerful my words and actions can be. A handmade card, colored with a rainbow of scented markers is handed to me after I arrive at school. All that this little darling child wants is an opportunity to give. Her toothy grin waits as I open up her masterpiece. I barely mouth the words, "thank you," before she jumps for joy.

I have so many reasons to feel thankful. This month has two special holidays for me to express my thanks. Veteran’s Day falls on Wednesday. My list of friends who serve and have served our country grows daily. I feel so safe knowing that they have watched out for me. I hope that I can thank them all.

Thanksgiving Day will arrive soon, too. While so much seems uncertain, God’s love remains. The people who have helped strengthen my faith in God are so important to me. I plan to send them my thanks, too.

"For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers," (Ephesians 1:15-16 NIV).
