Barksdale Boys and Girls Club member Eden Glenn, 9, was voted the winner in the Rockdale News essay contest for a playhouse built by Barksdale BGC board member Chad Shultz. Glenn's essay was selected as one of three finalists out of 19 entries and was voted on by readers online. She said the playhouse will give her and her neighborhood friends a place to go and get away from the heat in the summer. The playhouse was delivered as an early Christmas present on Dec. 10.
