IN BRIEF: The Conyers-Rockdale Planning Commission recommended turning down the zoning request by Four A International for a 308 acre, mixed use development with 1,400 residential units Thursday evening, with three members of the commission voting against, two voting for it and one abstaining.
The three that voted against - Jerry Shepperd, Allan Jones and Linda Carter - and the member that abstained - Chuck Russell - cited not having enough information. Shepperd said the matter was still too ambiguous considering all the planning that had been done. Russell abstained because there was "not enough information to vote either way." Commission members Karen Benton and Max McFarlin voted in favor of approving the zoning request.
The Four A zoning application faces final approval by the City Council next Wednesday at 7 p.m. at 1194 Scott Street.
