Rockdale County Public Schools is asking parents to visit their children's schools between now and July 28, 2014 to review and provide feedback on their improvement plans.

The federal Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 requires Local Education Agencies, or school districts, to have an approved plan on file with the Georgia Department of Education in order to receive federal funds.

Parents will be asked to review the Comprehensive LEA Improvement Plan, which contains 31 plan descriptors that address how federal funding will be used in the district to improve student achievement. The plan is revised annually by stakeholders representing teachers, principals, administrators and parents of children in schools receiving Title I services.

The CLIP is submitted each year in the Consolidated Application to the GaDOE.

Each school has a folder for review with the entire document. Parents will be asked to sign a sheet saying they reviewed it and also have an opportunity to leave comments.

A copy of the plan can be reviewed at each school and the Central Office located at 954 North Main Street in Conyers Monday through Thursday. Individual school hours may vary, so those interested in visiting should call for school office hours.
