The delivery driver whisked away after dropping off my order. The bare cardboard box's shipping label had a packing slip that was neatly tucked underneath. After a quick inventory, I skimmed the list to see if everything was included. Then, I noticed one of my favorite phrases, "No charge, paid in full."
I started noticing how often I use the word "pay." I ask my son to pay attention. There's always a bill to pay. As the Fourth of July approaches, I feel thankful for all of those troops and their families who have paid with their time and lives so that I may enjoy my freedoms.
As I get ready for the Fourth of July, I feel thankful for the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for me. With his life, death and resurrection, my sins are paid in full.
"Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Matt 20:28 NAB, NIV)
