We believe that Rockdale County is on the verge of major economic growth. In a confidential report submitted to the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Board presented possible projects on the horizon that could impact our community with the addition of a possibly 2,100 new jobs and $170 million in investments and build-outs.
There are many reasons for this — our proximity to a major airport, our water supply, our excellent school system and, most of the time, good government.
We rarely ever write about major business coming here until after the fact because of the delicate negotiations involved.
We are excited about our future. As the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, he had seen the Promised Land. We have had the privilege to see it too, and trust us, it looks very positive.
We are fortunate to have good people working with economic development in our county — they work together as a team for our benefit.
