Last Monday, the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce held their annual golf tournament, which is a fundraiser for the many business activities the chamber supports.
For the last couple of years, the chamber has held its tournament out of town. It was great that this year's tournament was played at our own refurbished Cherokee Run, which is located near the Georgia International Horse Park.
Since the city has taken over the course, the improvements made are first class. The course was originally designed by Arnold Palmer and is still very challenging. From what we understand, use of the course has been very good the past few months.
While the weather is nice and, especially if you are a golfer - or even if you're a real duffer like our publisher, plan to spend a great afternoon out at Cherokee Run. You will see that your tax money has been put to good use and appears to have good returns.
