Our thoughts: Flag Day

There is something that none of us should be reminded about, and that is to celebrate and fly our flag.
But if you do we would like to remind you that next week is celebrated as National Flag week and Tuesday, June 14, is officially celebrated as Flag Day.

In 1916 President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established that date as National Flag Day. In 1949 that proclamation was made official by an act of Congress.

It would be a very special act of patriotism if each and every one of us took the time to display our flag next week. If you don't have one, you can go to almost any store in our area that sells food or hardware and pick up a flag.

There have been gallons of blood shed by courageous and caring and dedicated heroes, many who gave the ultimate price, to protect that flag and the country it represents which we honor next week.

So please take a few minutes post your flag and remember to say a little prayer for the freedoms that you have living under that glorious flag that for ever more will wave.
