Father’s Day is just around the corner, and once again, we celebrate the men that step up to the plate each day to take care of their families, emotionally and materially and morally.
They not only provide a roof over their heads and food on the table, check the tire pressure, fix broken garage doors, provide broad shoulders to lean upon, but just by being there, they allow their children a secure base to go into the world.
But dads come in all shapes and sizes, and are not always the same as our biological fathers. Grandfathers, uncles, step-fathers brothers and family friends often step into the role in the life a child where their biological father was not present, and Father’s Day is just as much a chance to celebrate them.
We also spotlight the men that take time out of their day to serve as mentors to students in our schools, churches and neighborhoods.
Please take the time to appreciate and honor these men. To the fathers, grandfathers, and father-figures everywhere, and Happy Father’s Day.
